With the shift to flexible working after COVID-19, many Deloitte employees found it difficult to meet their colleagues in the office. People came in on different days, often missing each other entirely. To address this, we developed Roundabout—an app designed to help employees coordinate office visits and make in-person connections more intentional.

Key features:

• Plan ahead – See who’s planning to be in the office and align schedules accordingly.

• Share location – Check in upon arrival and share your location to make it easier for colleagues to find you.

• Find a colleague – View who else is in the office and where they’re spending their day.

• Get together – Organise casual meetups, like grabbing coffee or having a fika.

As the designer, I led the market research, analysing similar apps that facilitate in-person connections to identify best practices. I also conducted user research and testing, ensuring the app met employees’ needs, and crafted the final UI/UX design.

The result? Roundabout significantly improved how Deloitte employees planned their office visits, fostering meaningful connections and making their time on-site more valuable.
